Small Recliners
Recliners can be wonderful, but they can also have their drawbacks. Some don't like the way recliners look, and in many cases, we are focused on the size of furniture in a room, and how well the furniture serves the needs of the occupants.
Recliners combine the hassock, or foot stool, within the base of the chair, which saves floor space. The obvious disadvantage of needing space behind a chair to accommodate the space needed for the reclining back consumes much of the saved space.
Rotating, or swivel chairs, also require additional consideration for both space and safety. If unsure on your feet, a stationary chair is a better option.
Recliners that can be placed closer to objects and walls are called space savers, or wall savers. These are particularly helpful for space saving but come with risks. The strength to pull back the footrest with some assistance from the handle may be too much for some users, who may attempt to exit the chair with the footrest open. In the event that the chair is open with footrest extended, the chair has moved forward on its base and can easily tip forward, trapping the person try to escape the chair.
Balancing features with safety and making the space as comfortable and attractive as possible all factor into decisions to either purchase a floor model recliner or place an order for one to be made using the options and covers of your choice.
Certain of our Danish recliners can be ordered with greater options and customization. These options add time and cost to the order, but result in a chair just for you.
