Platform Beds - no foundation or box spring

Platform beds do not use box springs or foundations, and are often preferred for their lower overall height. Platforms that support foam and naturral latex mattresses should be built to properly support and ventilate foam mattresses; this is most often done with slats spaced to provide both support and ventilation.  Innercoil spring mattresses, however, are supported fine with either slats or a solid foundation.
